Ultra Filtration (UF) is a pressure-driven membrane separation process that removes suspended solids, colloids, bacteria, viruses, oil & grease, and high molecular-weight organics from water. UF membranes operate in the pore-size range of 0.01 – 0.1 micron, making them highly effective as a standalone treatment or as a pre-treatment stage ahead of Reverse Osmosis (RO).
Crearch Envirotech designs and supplies hollow-fibre UF membrane systems built on globally proven membrane brands. Our systems are engineered for compact footprint, fully automatic SCADA-based operation, and consistently high filtrate quality — suitable for both industrial process water and potable water applications.
Feed water enters the UF module under low operating pressure (typically 0.5 – 2.5 bar). Water and small dissolved molecules pass through the hollow-fibre membrane wall as permeate, while suspended solids, colloids, and pathogens are retained on the feed side and periodically flushed out during an automatic backwash cycle.
Crearch Envirotech integrates automatic backwash, forward flush, and CIP (Clean-in-Place) sequences into every UF skid — ensuring sustained membrane flux, extended membrane life, and minimal operator intervention. Systems are available in both inside-out and outside-in flow configurations to suit varying feed-water qualities.
One of the most critical applications of Ultra Filtration is its role as a pre-treatment stage for Reverse Osmosis systems. Conventional pre-treatment using multimedia filters often fails to produce water with a Silt Density Index (SDI) low enough to protect RO membranes — leading to fouling, frequent cleaning, and reduced membrane life.
Crearch Envirotech's UF systems consistently deliver SDI values below 3 and turbidity below 0.1 NTU — providing RO membranes with the ideal feed quality. This translates into longer RO membrane life, reduced chemical consumption, and higher overall system recovery, making the combined UF + RO train the preferred choice for high-purity and zero-liquid-discharge applications.
We source hollow-fibre UF membranes from globally certified manufacturers, ensuring consistent rejection rates, longevity, and chemical compatibility.
Every UF skid is equipped with PLC / SCADA controls for hands-free backwash, CIP scheduling, alarm management, and remote monitoring.
Our UF systems are designed for minimal footprint and are fully modular — allowing easy capacity expansion without major civil or structural changes.
Low operating pressure and energy-efficient components reduce power consumption, while optimised backwash cycles minimise water wastage and lifecycle costs.
